Phyllis J. Perry

Phyllis J. Perry is a former educator who now writes full time for both children and adults. She and her husband live in Boulder, Colorado. Perry is active in the Colorado Council of the International Reading Assn., the Colorado Authors’ League, and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. She makes frequent school visits and appears at school book fairs.

Dr. Perry attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in English Literature and minored in U.S. History. She then received a Masters Degree from San Francisco State College. After teaching in the Bay Area, at both elementary school and college level, she moved to Boulder, Colorado. There she earned a doctorate degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is the author of 10 children’s books.

This is not a diary like the other books in the Wimpy Kid series. As the author points out emphatically, The Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book is a journal.
