Joan Vernikos, Ph.D.

Joan Vernikos, Ph.D., is a pioneering medical research scientist who has conducted seminal studies in space medicine, inactive physiology, stress, and healthy aging. After receiving her Ph.D. in pharmacology at the University of London, she became a researcher at the NASA Ames Research Center, later serving as Life Sciences Director of the center.
