F--k Ivy and Everything Else
“one of the most authoritative, educational, and gut-splittingly funny books about the do’s and don’ts of men’s style.”
There is no doubt that this rather amazingly written and conceived book needs to have a warning label or disclaimer: “if you are offended by brutal honesty and the F-word, then just move on!”
Mark McNairy is audacious, totally honest, and opinionated, using all sorts of salty language while being hysterically judgmental. He has graciously provided men, and maybe some women, too, with one of the most authoritative, educational, and gut-splittingly funny books about the do’s and don’ts of men’s style.
F--k Ivy and Everything Else is the very first and probably the only book about fashion that will make you literally laugh out loud, which would mean you are of like mind and don’t take yourself too seriously. This reviewer burst into laughter more than once.
The topic of men’s style and supposed fashion hints has been a subject approached by many authors with varying degrees of success but none come close to slamming the nail on the head or driving a point home like this. McNairy just spits it out and tells you in plain English the yes, the no, and the never of how to think about your appearance, your shopping habits, and even your manners. If there could be a book recommended for the those who believe they are sartorially blessed, this would be it as so many of today’s supposedly hip and happening men are nothing more than fashion victims.
This book should be read by just about anyone who wants to make the best impression possible whether money is an object or not. Some will say he has a very generic point of view when it comes to fashion, but this reviewer thinks McNairy is pretty f---king brilliant!
